  • The Grand Friday mosque: Masjid-al-Sultan Mohammed Thakurufaanu-al-Azam is the largest mosque in the Maldives. The tomb of the mosque consists of sculpted statues of national heroes and the members belong to royal family give an essence of great old days. The burial ground of the Mosque is incomparable.

 

  • The Islamic centre: This center is the Male’s most popular architectural landmark. It is a three –storey building. The place has the capacity to accommodate more than 5,000 worshippers. The golden dome of the mosque is designed with Arabic calligraphy. The centre also possessed a library and a conference hall.

 

  • Hukuru Miskiiy: The Hukuru Miskiiy, built during the reign of sultan Ibrahim Iskandhar I. The exterior and interior walls of this historic mosque, built with coral stone, accompanied by intricately designed Arabic writings with ornamental patterns. The doors, windows and roof top are made of varieties woods like rose, sandal and teak.
